New Listings, New Escrows and Sold Properties in Palm Springs for Friday, July 24th, 2009

There was a lot of action on Friday -- especially with all the new listings in Central Palm Springs. This was due largely to the "re-opening" of Escena which represents 5 of the new listings. It will be interesting to watch how this project moves along. The Lennar homes are beautiful and it will be a beautiful addition to Palm Springs when it is completed and fully occupied.

Great to see that Escena is back on track. New home sales jumped 11% and sales are showing a marked jump these past 3 months. I am a real~estate bubble blogger but I can't deny the shift in the real estate market. The economy appears to be recuperating, if only a little bit, and some people are beginning to take advantage of the low prices to buy themselves bargain houses. We need more sales so that our economy in the desert may begin to heal.

I'll be interested to see how low the prices at Escena go.

Yes, it is very encouraging news to Escena back in the game. I don't suspect they would have returned at this time if they weren't confident that we are seeing signals of a recovery, be it ever so slow.
